I would like to bring in the notion of "conceptual awareness" and "representation methods" that allow learners to perceive common grounds in understanding conceptual foundations rather than just giving definitions and examples. Collaborative learning based upon 'interest' rather than curricular arguments or the need for certification meets new opportunities as now Web-based learning communities evolve. Its prospect is to find and meet specific learning partners that have a similar interest but a complementary learning style. Already the web exposes configurational- rather than linear structures. For instance www.touchgraph.com; it allows users to monitor the landscape rather than a certain location. What is your expectation of the way www users are going to find learning partners, and what exchange formats are they going to use in the coming years?
